THE BEGINNING
AUGUST- 2022
It all began one sunny Friday afternoon in Stamford, Connecticut. Adrianna's colleagues were taking her to the local shipping watering hole to celebrate the end of her first week as a dry cargo ship broker. Her colleague Caleb - who saw the stars aligning long before the future bride and groom did - mentioned that his friend/client, Joe Kennelly, would be joining. Adrianna recalls being charmed by Joe's humor, his fantastic hair, and by his eagerness to answer all the questions she had about their work. After leaving that day, Joe remembers telling Caleb that he should definitely set up a similar get-together the following week.
A few months later, Adrianna and Joe went “off-market”, as they kept their budding romance hidden from the gossip-loving Stamford shipping crowd. Their early days were filled with trivia nights, NYC dinners, and secret drinks after work... until one Friday night, when they ran straight into Adrianna’s boss. His look of confusion quickly turned into pure delight at being the first to discover their secret.
DATING
DECEMBER 2022 - DECEMBER 2024
Shortly after making the relationship official, and public, Adrianna attempted to make it home to Minnesota for Christmas during a Mid-West ice storm. After four cancelled flights, she made a tear-filled call to Joe to ask if she, and her dog MuShu, could spend the holidays with the Kennellys. Joe will recall this Christmas as the event that sealed the deal for him, as he watched Adrianna hold her own among the excitement and chatter of an Italian-American Christmas.
The next few years were filled with trips all over the U.S. and across Europe. Adrianna knew early on she had met her person - someone to match her love of travel, and someone who felt like home no matter where they were.
ENGAGEMENT
JANUARY 2025
Adrianna and Joe had planned a trip to Aruba to escape the dark and cold (by CT standards, not MN) winter. Adrianna had gotten her nails done... just in case. But the night before their flight, Joe threw her off the scent by asking if she still liked a specific ring that had been her favorite for months, making Adrianna think he wasn't quite ready to pull the trigger.
On night two, they went to dinner on the beach. Their waitress, who was in on the surprise, snapped a few pictures of them in front of the Caribbean sunset. As they were about to go back to their table, Joe said "hold on let's do one more pose." He popped down on one knee, and the rest is history!
